Variation on a theme (now called Star Attraction!)

I decided to make a pair of doilies in brown and cream to go with the new decor in my guest bedroom and thought that my new Starburst Doily would be just the job. But after the second round my designing head reared up and the doily ended up like this! I am now half way through the second doily but of course this one has got to be exactly the same otherwise it won't be a matching pair!

And here is the link to the PDF pattern of this latest version.

  3. Linda, I must say that I love the variation. In fact I think I like it better than the original. The colour contrast is more striking and interesting. Will you be publishing the pattern by any chance?

  4. Thank you everyone for your lovely comments and I agree that the pattern stands out well, especially with the two colours. And yes, Clyde, I will produce the pattern for it!
Can anyone name this variation for me? I have run out of ideas!

  5. Beautiful, the two-color contrast makes it look as though it was made with lots of tiny little motifs fastened together.

  6. Love it!!!! It's specially striking with the 2 colors. I like Tatting Chic name for it. My brain have run a little dry with the naming of designs. lol

  7. Linda, this variation is beautiful. It tends to have a celtic look as the last three rows seem to weave in and out of each other. It is a great design, indeed! - Marie Smith

  11. Thanks for the patterns, Linda -- that just so generous! This is one I really want to make. It's going to have to wait until after I get my Christmas tatting done, though.
