Black Choker

I have notice a lot of girls and young women are wearing black lace chokers and so I have made this one for Aimee Grace, my friend's granddaughter.

Beaded Necklace, Bracelet, Earrings Set

I have made this set using purple faceted glass beads...6mm, 4mm & 3mm...and purple 15/0 seed beads  and 11/0 bronze seed beads. I didn't have the usual fishing line in a dark colour and so I used a pure Japanese silk thread, brown, which is very difficult to break, but still used it double, just in case! The pattern for the earrings and bracelet are Sidonia,s from YouTube and I adapted the pattern to make the necklace. Sidonia's YouTube videos are absolutely brilliant!

More Beaded Earrings

This is a pattern I got from YouTube I think it is absolutely delightful and I have enjoyed doing it very much. Sidonia (the designer) has also done a version for a bracelet which I am going to do next...just waiting for some beads to arrive.

Beaded Earrings

I saw some beading instructions on YouTube and thought I would give it a go. This is the result. I loved every minute of it and will look into getting the proper beading needles, beads, etc.

Next 3D elements

These are some of the elements I have made for the next edition of my 3D Collection. I have also done a piece of tulle edged with beaded tatting, but you will have to wait to see the finished article!

Toffee Tin for Shuttles

This little toffee tin (now empty of course, yum-yum!!) measures about 4 inches square, which is perfect for keeping spare shuttles in. As it was very plain I decided to pretty it up a bit with some beaded tatting. The thread is Anchor perle size 12 with tiny purple seed beads.
This has been my first bit of tatting for months! But it has kick started me into action again and I have started my Split Chain doily in pink perle size 12, which I am hoping to get done before I go into hospital on 18th Feb.

Diamond Motifs

The following pictures are my journey into designing a diamond shaped motif to enter into the Ring-of-Tatters competition this year. I will not post a picture of the final design that I am entering, I will save that until after the competition.

Wedding dress - Royal? Edging

I have been requested to show a close-up of the edging of the wedding dress and veil. This is the best I can do as the photo is not digital.

Each extending ring has a pearl bead and so you can imagine how many hundreds I used!

The edging was worked directly onto the tulle, but I made yards of the edging for the dress and sewed it on by hand.

The dress and veil can be found in my book From Petals to Pearls.

Here are a couple of motifs that I am going to use in my new book "Tiaras and Headdresses".

My idea is to show that the same motifs can be put together in different ways to achieve a different look.
In these pictures, the motifs are simply placed together for the camera. I will eventually wire them and then tape them together, probably with some little fill-in daisies as well.

Beaded Split Ring Tiara

Some time ago I posted about designing a bridal tiara for my future daughter-in-law....I was playing around with some motifs, but had to put them aside while Christmas and New Year came and went.

I picked up the project again a couple of days ago and this is what I have come up with. I only have to stiffen it, but I thought I would photograph it first to show a before and after.

I have used a thick shiny thread, that was not easy to work with, but looks really sparkly (the photo does not really pick the sheen up) and 6mm and 3mm sunrise pearl beads.

I will post again when I have stiffened and shaped it.
