December birthday card

I have designed and made my friend a birthday card for December. I made a box section and covered it with a cut-out picture frame. The tatting in the centre is covered with acetate and so does not show up very well because of reflection, but in real life it is quite effective.
I saw this type of card being made on a TV craft program and thought that I could replicate the idea without going to the expense of buying the kit. Luckily I had all the equipment necessary and it wasn't all that difficult to make....just time consuming....and I think it turned out well!

Dearest Friend Card

Today is my dearest friend's birthday. Janet has been my friend since 1983 and has been "there" for me through thick and thin. A true friend who never expects anything in return!

Cards

Birthday cards are the order of the day today. My mother's 83rd birthday will be on Tuesday 16th February and I have made one to give from my husband and myself, and one to give from my son and his fiance.

I have one more to make for a friend, to give to a friend who will soon be 70. I have printed out the card and verse and made some of the flowers to decorate it with, but it's not quite finished yet. I will post a picture when it is completed.

30th Birthday Card

My future daughter-in-law is 30th tomorrow (Sept 7th) and this is the card that I have done for her. She is very special to us and is going through a trying time at the moment. 3 days after her birthday she will be having surgery for breast cancer! We are very hopeful for a full recovery as there does not appear to be any lymph involvement, which was very encouraging news!

I won!

I decided to enter the Ring Of Tatters 2009 competition as the theme was to decorate a card and as you all know, that was right up my street! After sending in my entry I promptly forgot all about it!

Well I had a lovely surprise in the post yesterday morning - I received notification that I had won one of the two prizes - and found a beautiful wooden shuttle in a little box!

Now that the competition is over I can let you all see the pictures of the card that I submitted.

Mother's Day Card

With Mother's Day coming up this Sunday I thought you would all like to see the card that I have made for my Mum. I have decorated it with roses as her name is Rose and her favourite colour is red. I have also used the wired clunies I posted about previously!
