Back to tatting!

I promised to show some pictures of my latest daffodil design that I am making for Rebekah's bridal bouquet. There will be other flowers in the bouquet, but Bekah wanted the white daffodil to be predominant.

I am really enjoying the wedding themes that I have got running at the moment. I'm a real sucker for romance! LOL!!!

Some time ago I designed a new heart to decorate a couple of wedding cards that I need to do. I have now made the hearts intertwined in fine perle size 12 and encased them in a heart-shaped edging. The picture shows how they will be assembled on the card. When the card is completed - with the famous quotation of Friedrich Halm - I will post a picture.

Heart Pattern

I have now done the pattern for the heart I designed, after being convinced by many of you that you had not seen a heart that was the same!

If anyone comes along and shows me that they have already done a heart that is almost identical than I shall withdraw this pattern.

With a simple heart pattern it is very difficult to come up with something that hasn't been done before. I don't seem to have the same problem with my 3D flowers!

4 steps to heaven!

I wanted to design a heart to put onto a couple of wedding cards that I have to make this year and I thought I would share the progression with you all.

I have only used a cheapy size 20 thread to expeirment with but I will use finer threads for the real article!

Knowing that there are dozens of hearts out there in tat-land someone is bound to have done something similar to this one, therefore I will not be publishing a pattern for it! If anyone knows of someone elses pattern that is identical then please let me know. I have not studied anyone else's heart, but there is only so many ways of coming up with the same shape!

A couple of new motifs!

I have continued to doodle over the past couple of evenings and have come up with a square motif and a heart shaped one. The square one has been tatted with a variagated Rubi size 20 thread and the heart was tatted with Coates Aida size 20. The square motif can be left on it's own and used as an embellishment or can be put together at the corners to make a larger motif, a larger square doily or even a longer table runner/scarf.
