Variations for the Christmas baubles

I thought you would all like to see the variations that I have done for my red Christmas baubles. My colour scheme is a White Xmas tree with fibre optic lights, decorated with the red baubles, that themselves are decorated with Christmas green tatting and some with silver beads.

My next project will be to tat some snowflakes, incorporating the red, green and silver colours.

They're all great! I especially like the one with the split rings in strips -- it reminds me of a juicy tomato. :) It's really amazing how well the center banded ones fit.

These are all lovely. I have a question for you and I hope you don't mind me asking this. Do you attach the beads onto your tatting when you put them around a ball like this or do you use straight pins and just attach them to the ball in the spaces? Or do you have another method that you use? How about glue? I want to make some of these but would like to have a little info first. Thanks so much....

Thank you, Marty, I too like the split ring strips - simple but effective. Mind you, I enjoy making all of them and trying to come up with something different.

Now then, Linda. Sometimes I thread the beads on first, but not very often. I usually tat to where I want to put a bead and then attach one using a needle threader. If you don't know this method I have a link to my PDF of it on the right side bar of my blog in the Free Patterns section, called Beading Instructions.
I don't glue or pin the beads on afterwards.

Thanks Linda, yes, I know this method and I've done it before. I think I'll try it some more now after seeing you lovely ornaments. Thanks so much. Happy Holidays!
