Hexagon doily

I played around with the square motif I did last year using mock rings and made it into a 6-sided hexagon shape.
It is a very basic pattern that I am sure many other tatters have come up with.
I simply joined each motif so that the whole shape was a hexagon and then finished it off with a border.

That is a really pretty design! I especially like the way the inside motifs are kind of pointed, but the outside ends up being a flat sided hexagon. I believe the inside motifs would be called "Stellated hexagons" in geometry. :)

Love that doily! And my husband is sitting behind me and the first thing he said was "Wow!" :)

It is lovely, but my eye kept straying to the white edging!

Ah, must be the symptom of too much border-tatting in the no-colour zone!
