Pretty Pansy

I thought you would all like to see how Sherry's yarn (AKA ladyshuttlemaker) makes up into one of my flowers. This is the very first HDT (hand dyed thread) that I have used and I think you will agree that it works beautifully on this little flower. The variagation for this flowers is perfect! The thread is Lights Lavender in size 80. The link to Sherry's blog is in my "Friends" side bar.

It's beautiful, Linda, as usual.

Very nice Linda, as always. What kind of fabric do you use for the backing?

Thank you both for your kind words.
Jeff, I mainly use dress lining fabric as they are fine but not too fine as to have no body and they come in an amazing array of colours.

Perfectly beautiful. Pansies are one of my favorite flowers and this one is especially fine!

I really love the way you attach the fabric backing to your flowers.

I know you have explained how you did it somewhere before but I couldn't find the time to sit down and really study it. I will and must make one eventually

I think your pansy is the perfect choice for hand dyed thread and it looks beautiful.

What a lovely pansy!
I wonder how you made it. I could use such a tatted pansy on the crazy violets quilt I am working on. Are there any instructions on your blog? How did you attach the backing?
