New Tulip Design

This is the second of my new bulb flowers - the tulip. I hope you all like it.

My DH thinks it should have more depth, what is your opinion? I could put an extra repeat in, but I think it looks quite well balanced, however, I will go with the majority!

Beautiful! Reminds me of the wild tulips that grow on the steppes of southwestern Russia. They are mostly red, but the shape is similar.

It looks like an open tulip to me. Why not have it both ways... this one, and one with more depth? Easy for me to say, right?!

Linda, you are just so clever.

for a wild tulip, yes the depth is about right, for a domestic tulip, I think you would need a bit more depth to really represent a tulip

I think the proportions are good. I think it's up to the individual tatter to shape it to make it more or less open. Personally, I like tulips best when they're not fully opened yet.

It's a quite beautiful tulip. I don't think it really needs more depth, maybe some contrast. How about trying stamens (is that the proper word?) of a different color? Many of tulips here have black or dark brown. Or it could be it just needs a leaf! Anyhow, it's lovely, as always.

I like it just as it is. That is when my tulips look best, at this stage.! Great pattern!

Although it looks good, I would like something in the middle which might then make it look like a dafadill. I love the thread used!
