Tatting Techniques DVD

I am think of producing a Tatting Techniques DVD and would like to know your opinion. I aready have links to 4 videos that I have on YouTube, but I thought that I could produce a DVD that incorporated all of those plus other techniques, like hiding ends, starting without a knot, clunies, etc., etc..

Do you think that this is a good idea, or are there enough video demos out in tat-land? If you think it is a good idea, what else would you like to see demonstrated?

Your videos are clear and direct and instructive. It would be great to have a collection of techniques all in one disc. Go for it!

Oh, yes! I'd love to have your instructions on adding beads and making clunies and, oooo, lots of things. Yours are so clear! Sign me up for a copy when it's done!

I have never used a tatting DVD, but have used tatting videos (via Internet) often. I agree with HJ that having a collection of techniques all on one disc would be very convenient, especially in situations where/when Internet connectivity isn't ideal.

I love your demonstrations, and I would certainly buy a DVD of tatting techniques from you. Sometimes I watch a couple of different demonstrations before I catch on to how to do something.

This is an area where you are 'strong'. I'd go for it; and, I will buy a copy when it appears. It'd be nice to have for a reference; even the best can't remember all the tips and techniques.
Plus when newbies 'ask' their stock questions (you know, the ones we ALL had at the beginning), we could refer them to the DVD.
Just Do It! :>)

Ps and I love the soft classical music in the background, too

I would appreciate a dvd with all the tutorials in one spot. This would be able to be accessed even if I didn't have internet access. I started reading this blog because I cannot tat. I want to learn how and I plan on starting this year... In the meantime I hope to learn what I can from your blog & stay inspired to learn another form of lace making.

I would pay good money for a video demo of clunies, both regular and wired. I never can get the little buggers right. And I agree that lots of people would probably appreciate having all the techniques in one place. Another thought would be to have a section on all the different types of joins you can think of: regular (both up and down for frontside-backside tatters), avoiding the twisted picot, lock, alligator, catherine wheel, join on the second half of a split ring, and so forth.

Thank you, one and all, for your encouragement, and particularly Miranda. I hadn't thought of the different types of joins, especially the second half of a split ring. This is easy when you know how....but just about impossible when you don't!

It's funny, I never knew all those different types of joins existed until I joined the online tatting community.

I came up with a couple of other suggestions, too. It might be helpful to use 2 colors to help beginners see which thread is doing what and exactly what's happening with the flip. Also, you might include a discussion of how you know when you need 2 shuttles or when to do the SLT; I've noticed on HBT that a lot of people have questions about that. Again, simple when you know...
