Spruced up tatted flower arrangement
I have kept taken a lot of old flowers, taken some of the old ones out and added a lot of new ones.
The arrangement is sitting on my Coronet Doily....the link to the pattern can be found in my Free Pattern section.

3D Collection No.4
This is the last of my 3D arrangements that I am doing for the fund raising at Palmettos Tat Days in September. I always contribute something for the silent auction and this year I decided to do a 3D collection.
This last arrangement is ideal for a wedding, particularly if a bride does not want a full veil, but it could also be worn by anyone attending a wedding, especially the Mother-of-the-Bride.

Next 3D elements
These are some of the elements I have made for the next edition of my 3D Collection. I have also done a piece of tulle edged with beaded tatting, but you will have to wait to see the finished article!

3D collection No.3
Here is the latest edition to my 3D collection. I have photographed the piece on the small vase to illustrate how it drapes down, especially if worn as a head piece.
I used vintage Anchor white cotton size 80 and Anchor perle size 12 in lilac colourway 0108.

3D Collection No.2
Here is the second arrangement in my 3D collection.
It has taken me longer than I expected because I had the temerity to go to Scotland for a mini break. All I did was eat, sleep, drive and sight see. No tatting at all!

3D Collection No.1
I have decided to do a 3D collection of hair pieces and corsages and this is the first to be completed.
I am well on the way to finishing the second one and will post a picture when it is done.

Red & White Display
OK, OK!! I know it has been AGES since my last post, but that doesn't mean that I haven't been tatting....it simply means that I have been tatting surprises that I cannot blog about. But at last I have been able to do something I CAN talk about. This little display is for my next-door neighbour, Sue, who is an absolute treasure to me. She bought the red thread from a car-boot sale for just a few pence...didn't even really know if it was suitable for tatting....but got it anyway. She just happened to drop on to Coates vintage thread (size 20) in perfect condition and who better to tat it up for than for Sue herself. She isn't the doily type of person but loves this sort of thing.

December birthday card
I have designed and made my friend a birthday card for December. I made a box section and covered it with a cut-out picture frame. The tatting in the centre is covered with acetate and so does not show up very well because of reflection, but in real life it is quite effective.
I saw this type of card being made on a TV craft program and thought that I could replicate the idea without going to the expense of buying the kit. Luckily I had all the equipment necessary and it wasn't all that difficult to make....just time consuming....and I think it turned out well!

Lynne's cake
Today is my DIL's mother's 60th birthday and we are going to celebrate by going out for a meal. This cake is a complete surprise for her....I hope she likes it! It is all my own work, including the sugar flowers.

Red & Cream Corsage
I've made this arrangement to wear on Saturday to the West Midlands Tatting Day at Amblecote, Stourbridge (UK). I shall be wearing cream trousers with a red and cream top and red blouse. The last time I wore a corsage to this event, a couple of years ago, I ended up giving it away to another tatter who was starting up her own group. I wonder where this one will end up!Saturday, 19 May 2012
Bathroom arrangement

I decided to make a flowerarrangement for my son and daughter-in-laws' bathroom.
The pictures show the flowers and leaves I made and the steps that I arranged them.
I had glued a small block of oasis onto a little Aynesley china dish the day before, to make sure that it was well secure.

A Little Splash of Spring!
I have made this little spring flower arrangement for my next-door neighbour. She is a true friend who is worth making a treat for. I found out quite a long time ago that her favourite colours were blue and yellow, so what a good excuse to make daffodils and primulas!

Double Fuchsia Flower
While I have been waiting for my thread to arrive for my Coronet Doily I have been playing with designing a double fuchsia. I did a single one in my very first book Petals to Pearls but I was recently looking at one of my beautiful double flowers in my garden and thought what a gorgeous one it would be to be replicated!
Here is the end result. I will do some leaves to make a display and then produce the pattern for it!

Tatted Tiaras and Bridal Pieces

The new book "Tatted Tiaras and Bridal Pieces" is now available and uploaded onto my web site, Here is the direct link to the appropriate page.
I decided to get a move on with this publication so that fellow tatters had plenty of time for tatting for spring brides and weddings.
The pictures show just a few of the 24 pages.
I hope you all enjoy having a go!
