My niece has bought new baubles for her tree this year and her colour scheme is green, white and silver. After seeing other designs on the net I thought I would have a go at my own. This was the result of my first attempt!

Wow, that has worked really well.
Congratulations, well done. If you prefer for the upper cap to lay flat, there are 2 possibilities. One is to glue it down. The other is to run invisible thread between the cap & the belt. Mind you, I've never actually done one of these ornaments, so take my suggestions for what they're worth.
