Rose leaves

I have now done a pattern for the rose leaves that I used for the bridal bouquet and there is a link to the PDF on the right of my blog in my Free Patterns section.

Here also is the link to the pattern.

Fantastic! Just a couple more rings and chains and they'll be perfect for the stargazer lily, too.

Thanks Linda! And I like the new pdf format. The bridal boquet is gorgeous (and an heirloom!)

Just a note as I'm at hospital. They do have free wireless. I saw the bouquet and it is beautiful. It will, indeed, be an heirloom. Thinking of you.
Loyal in a lot of pain; not doing too well today (Wed).
hugs, Bev

Hi Linda and thanks for the sharing pattern. Your work in Frivolité/Tatting it's very delicate and beautiful. I'm going to try to do one of your rose leaves. Thank you.

I was having major trouble with the folded join for some reason(or joining at the end of the motif) and saw your video on You tube. I totally learned to tat differently and I fear different is worse... because your method looks so much faster... how can I learn your method? I am excited to try your join method, esp as all the other methods I have tried have failed... even double twisting the join!

Thank you, one and all, for the encouraging comments and yes, Steph, the leaves are very similar to the star gazer lily petal. It just shows that there are many applications to a simple tatted design, it just differs in the assembly!

Hi Linda!

I don't believe I've commented on your blog before, but I've sure meant to! You and I have similar interests in 3-dimensional tatting, although you've gone way beyond me! I was very 'obsessed' with 3-D tatting from 1990-94, but then I went back to work (at 50 yrs. old) and never regained the momentum, even though that job lasted only 2 years.

Your 3-D flowers are breathtaking and it's difficult to find words for them. The bridal bouquet is spectacular!

And you make your own cards, which is also one of my hobbies. However, you add lots of actual tatting whereas I mostly use photos of my tatting on the cards. Your recipients are very fortunate!

Awhile back you mentioned fixing a doily by cutting out rings and adding new ones to make it lie flat. I can't even imagine doing that! The doily was beautiful!

Of course, another of your many talents is cake decorating! And you're self-taught! The cakes are also beyond description! I could never take the pressure of having to decorate cakes, especially for weddings, although I'd love to learn how to do the flowers.

I'm delighted that you're doing a tatting video for beginners, as your internet videos are so clear and well done.

Always enjoy your posts, and, of course, your tatting!
